The benefits of dance competitions are discussed with  substantial footage at one of the many competitions held throughout the country. Also included are interview's with former winners such as Ashley Canterna (Miss Dance of America 2002) and Peter Chursin (Mr. Dance of America 2003).

Shely Pack-Manning, a competition judge for Dance Masters of America and American Dance Awards, discusses what it takes, from technique to choreography, to achieve an overall first place standing in Dance Competition. She also explains what students learn by competing and how it benefits them in later life.
 

Studio owners:
Ever have a male dancer excel only to learn his father wants him to play sports? Studio owners should see this film because it features dancers across a broad spectrum from the recreational dancer to the professional ballerina to the ballet company artistic director talking about what attracted them to their dance class.
