ABOUT US
Jim Manning, filmmaker, spent over two years interviewing students, parents, teachers, dancers (both
amateur and professional), judges, choreographers, studio owners, artistic directors, and those involved behind the scenes in both competitions and
professional dance companies.
Building on the success of his last venture "The Queen of Spades", a 21
minute short film (an official selection of both the 2004 California Independent Film
Festival and the Hollywood DV Film Festival starring Manning and his wife, Shely), Manning
not only steps into the
documentary arena with a full-length feature exploring the world of dance but
gets a nomination for Best Documentary in the Educational category at the "9th
Annual DVD Awards with Leonard Maltin" in Hollywood in the process! Mr.
Manning has won both Telly and Aegis Awards for his work in documentary
production.
